Fit Friday: Meet Up Groups

Since the beginning of the year I have gone out and ran with more people, not just staying to the familiar routine of running solo or with just the same group of people within a particular running club.

I have mixed in various workouts with different groups of folks even driving various distances to meet up with some pretty awesome runners.

Here are some local (Sacramento area) running meet-up groups that I have been partaking in during the week:

the Elvas entry way to Sac State
Tuesdays - 6:00AM track workouts at the CSU Sacramento practice track. Most if not all of us park on the Elvas tunnel entrance and make our way to the track from there. These workouts are mostly speed intervals and vary from week to week. The group size ranges from 3 to 6 people at any given time. Wednesdays - 6:30AM is our weekly meet-up for the November Project Sacramento. These workouts incorporate running and various dynamic exercises to build overall strength. March SRA Come Run Series Meet-Up
Once a month meet-ups that I recently starting taking advantage of are the Come Run Series hosted by Sacramento Running Association (SRA). For more information about the SRA Come Run Series visit https://runsra.org/mission-statement/sra-community/sra-come-run-series/.

  1. LuluLemon meets to run at McKinley on Thursdays at 6PM.

    Also, there is another free running/workout group called MIP - Sacramento, they start at Heart Boutique and they meet on Thursday's and Sunday's. Follow Heart Boutique on IG or FB and they post the workout times and dates :)

    Hope that helps anyone looking for new/free workouts in our area :)
